| There is an attractive 9 hole golf course just South of Orland right off the freeway, open to the public. For the sportsman, you'll find hunting at its best in and around the surrounding area. In Orland you can also visit the well known Farm Sanctuary, dedicated to protecting farm animals. This 300 acre farm provides information and tours April - November.

Orland is located in the fertile Northern Sacramento River Valley, and is just about midway between Los Angeles and Portland. The agricultural based local economy provides a solid base for this family - oriented community. Located in Glenn County, we are just 90 minutes north of Sacramento and 30 minutes east of Chico.
I-5 runs north and south through the cities of Orland and Willows. State Route 32 runs east / west connecting Orland and Chico.
While visiting Orland, you will notice it is mostly comprised of large orchards producing almonds, walnuts, olives, and prunes. Special conditions allow for orange groves to flourish, making Orland the northern - most point in the U.S. where oranges are commercially grown. In addition, fields of corn, wheat, rice and beans are found on the surrounding acreage. The newest agriculture which is growing leaps and bounds are the kiwis and pistachios.
